Responsibilities- General mechanical work in buses, trolley coaches, and equipment.
- Work includes maintenance, repair and overhaul of vehicles and their components.
- Red Seal Certification as a Truck and Transport Mechanic or Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic in commercial transport vehicle maintenance repair.
- Must have served an apprenticeship as a Commercial Transport Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Mechanic, or be in receipt of a Military Certificate in Vehicle Technician QL5 and a Red Seal Certificate of Qualification Truck and Transport Mechanic.
- A good understanding and working knowledge of electrical work, steering, hydraulic and air brake systems is required.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a CVIP certification. The ability, after training, to hold a Class 2 driver’s licence with air ticket is required.
- An up-to-date driving abstract must accompany application.
- Maximum 6 points in the past 3 years, no impaired convictions, roadside suspensions or prohibitions in the past 5 years.
- Will be required to undergo a comprehensive medical examination.
Recruitment Process:
An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
37.5 hours per week.
Work DesignationResident. This position works predominately on-site.
Rate of PayWage: $59.69 per hour.
