Purpose
The Onboard Support Coordinator (OSC) reports into the Train Manager.
This position oversees inventory control, including the ordering and distribution of supplies, and provides operational support to the onboard team while in travel.
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive. All onboard team members must adhere to and comply with onboard safety standards. This also includes reporting any violations or hazards to onboard management and providing support in the event of an emergency.
This position requires periodic access to an active railway area where impaired performance could result in a significant incident affecting the health and safety of team members, guests, team members, the public, property, or the environment.

Key Areas of Accountability
Ordering and inventory maintenance
- Maintain inventory levels of merchandise, consumables, hardware, first aid supplies, and emergency equipment for all railcars.
- Work with the Onboard Leadership team to review and order all supplies and culinary products.
- Conduct audits to reconcile merchandise orders and record fridge temperatures.
Onboard team support
- Distribution and organization of onboard supplies and merchandise throughout the train.
- Set‑up, cleanliness, and maintenance of crew cars in conjunction with the Onboard Cleaner.
- Works with the Onboard Cleaner to set up and maintain the crew food program.
- Support Rocky Mountaineer’s green initiatives and recycling programs.
- Other duties as assigned by Onboard Leadership.
Health and Safety
- Adhere to our policies and procedures for the wearing, removal, and disposal of personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce or prevent exposures to hazards and other health risks.
- Adhere to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Ensuring the daily completion of assigned railcar safety inspections.
Qualifications
Education / Certifications / Knowledge
- High school diploma or GED is an asset.
- BC Food Safe certification is required.
- Valid First Aid certification is an asset.
- Fluency in English language.
- Fluency in additional languages is an asset.
- Valid form of domestic travel requirements (passport, driving license, etc.).
Experience
- Experience in an administrative or logistics capacity in the hotel, travel, or tourism industry.
- Experience using a POS system is considered an asset.
Skills and Attributes

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and web‑based platforms.
- Energetic and committed to delivering guest service excellence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Physical endurance and emotional resiliency with the ability to adapt and work long days.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Able to travel away from home base for up to 6 days at a time.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment on a moving train.
