Machine Learning Engineer
Description & Requirements
Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.
The ATOM team is responsible for building the future of AI-driven game testing. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for ATOM, you will report to the Director of AI for Quality Verification Services (QVS). You will fulfill high-impact applied research goals and help execute a vision that brings EA's games to life. Your mission is to discover and evaluate AI methods that increase the velocity and quality of next generation interactive experiences.
Our team impacts every title in EA's portfolio, and you will work with all types of AI technology to improve our titles.
- Execute the AI/ML technology roadmap. Work with our Director of AI and Lead Scientist to define and execute the RnD roadmap for next-generation game-testing solutions. Your applied research will involve areas such as agentic workflows, RL/IL agents, code quality evaluation, bug-prediction models, multi-modal foundation models and generative content evaluation. Your goal is to assess any relevant AI technology for product readiness, and your work will touch every game in the EA umbrella.
- Development Strategy. Help decide which parts of the roadmap we should develop internally, which parts we should develop with external partners and which parts we should license. You will help build the team further and also have a significant compute budget to support your goals.
- Inform the development of robust AI platforms. ATOM's solutions will ultimately need to scale up to meet the needs of games across all of our studios. Partner with other groups to inform them of what is required to scale these solutions, and define governance for data pipelines, simulation environments, and telemetry-collection systems that fuel rapid experimentation and development.
- Communicate outcomes. Work with the Development Director to communicate progress across the organization through reports, technical papers, demos, and prototypes that showcase improvements and help establish ATOM as an organizational leader in AI adoption.
- Stay current. Spend time in the literature and attend conferences to keep on top of advances in RL/IL, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing.
- Build & mentor a high-impact team. Help recruit, develop, and inspire top engineering talent and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative culture that solves problems and provides value.
- Collaborate across the studio ecosystem. Coordinate with QA leadership, other research groups, enterprise teams and core game-development teams to integrate AI testing tools and ensure solutions tightly match use cases.
- MSc in Computer Science, mathematics or related field
- At least 8 years of experience working in AI engineering
- Strong programming skills and understanding of software engineering practices
- Experience working with both research and engineering contexts
- Experience putting ML models into production
- Experience leading other engineers
