The Role

As a Software Engineer in a product squad, you’ll build AI‑powered features for safety‑ and compliance‑critical aviation workflows. You’ll ship end‑to‑end AI capabilities across web applications, backend services, and Python‑based ingestion pipelines, and liaise with the central AI team to integrate new patterns and enhancements.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own AI reliability and iteration by delivering production‑grade, measurable, debuggable AI features.
  • Maintain and improve existing AI‑powered workflows to drive customer trust and product adoption.
  • Implement and evolve agent‑style capabilities using the internal agent framework (tool calling, streaming, multi‑agent patterns).
  • Integrate LLMuas with production services:
    OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google GenAI.
  • Build tools that connect models to product context, such as web search, embeddings‑based document querying, document extraction, and AI‑assisted change proposals.
  • Harden AI behaviour and safety with guardrails, prompt and version management, and privacy‑aware handling of customer data.
  • Raise quality with automated testing and contribute to end‑to‑end coverage for critical workflows.
What You’ll Bring
  • 3–5χρι years of professional experience shipping production software, with strong engineering fundamentals (code quality, testing discipline, thoughtful trade‑offs).
  • Proven experience delivering AI features into production, including working with LLM APIs and building reliablecourses AI workflows.
  • Experience with AI/agent tooling patterns such as tool calling, retrieval/embeddings, and output evaluation for quality and regressions.
  • Ability to deliver full‑stack changes across backend services, web applications, and Python systems.
  • Clear communication and ownership, and the ability to operate effectively in a small team.
  • A growth mindset, with a willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve technical and product skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience operating and improving Python production services (FastAPI, workers, queue‑based processing).
  • Experience with document ingestion, PDF processing, OCR/layout analysis, or image processing.
  • Experience with AI observability and evaluation (metrics, tracing, cost monitoring, diseñados offline evals, regression testing).
  • Experience in regulated industries or safety‑critical software.
Location

This role is based in our Vancouver office. It is an on‑site position with some flexibility for life‑balance.
