Python Services Engineer

6-month contract Python Services Engineer role with a global organization

• Contract Python Services Engineer role.
• Large scale team developing high profile applications.
• Primarily on site work with 4 days in office.

As a result of growth, we are looking for a Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience focused on Python services development. You should have hands‑on experience deploying and maintaining code with Docker, Terraform, and AWS Lambda; experience with continuous delivery is a plus. You should demonstrate a deep understanding of Python, possess a solid computer science mindset, and be eager to learn new technologies.

You will be developing and maintaining Python microservices, deploying and managing applications using Docker, Terraform and you should have significant experience with AWS Lambda. You will be building and developing web applications in a cloud environment with a great, collaborative team. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily on site work arrangement, 4 days in office

You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

• 5+ years of experience with Python microservice development.
• Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, Serverless, and API Gateway.
• Proficiency with either Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• CI/CD experience and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and proxy servers (Terraform preferred).
• AWS:
  Lambda, Cloud Watch Alarms, API Gateway, Application Load Balancer.
• Orchestration:
  Terraform, Cloud Formation, Git Lab CI pipelines.
• Programming:
  Python.

This role pays between $70-90 per hour.
