Java Technical Expert​/Lead

THIS ROLE IS BASED IN VANCOUVER BC AND IS NOT OPEN TO REMOTE OPTIONS.

We are looking for a Java Technical Expert who will act as a trusted advisor to the client. This is not a project management or team-lead role; instead, the focus is on technical leadership, client guidance, and team development.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Deep Technical Expertise – Advanced knowledge of Java, related frameworks, and best practices.
. Client Leadership – Able to understand client needs, guide solution design, and influence technical direction.
. Hands-On Contribution – Strong coding, debugging, and optimization skills, with the ability to solve complex technical issues directly.
. Coaching & Mentoring – Supports and develops other team members by sharing knowledge, reviewing code, designs, and fostering best practices.
. Collaboration – Works closely with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams to ensure alignment and technical excellence.
. Advisory Role – Helps the client make informed decisions on architecture, tools, and implementation approaches.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 10+ years of proven software development experience developing enterprise solutions
. 6+ years of hands-on experience in developing Web services and API solutions using various Java based frameworks
. Proficient in Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, and JavaScript.
. Proficient in relational database management systems, Mybatis and Oracle DB queries.
. Proficient in Web User Interface (UI) using HTML4/HTML5, CSS2/CSS3, XHTML, JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, JSON, SOAP, REST services
. Strong knowledge of Domain Driven design & Micro Service Architecture
. Strong knowledge of API design, including versioning, isolation and micro-services
. Experience in testing frameworks like Junit.
. Knowledge in Dev Ops processes, continuous integration and delivery pipelines (Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, Docker)
