Mobile Engineer; React Native​/Expo

Buzz Me Up is building the next generation of AI-powered building access technology. Our mobile-first platform transforms outdated intercom systems into smart, software-only solutions that empower tenants, landlords, and property managers with secure and convenient access control — no hardware required.

We are seeking a talented Mobile Engineer with strong React Native (Expo) experience to join our lean, fast-moving team. This role will own the mobile experience, from onboarding flows to real-time call handling, helping shape a product that residents love to use daily.

• Develop and maintain our mobile app and front end using React Native with Expo.
• Build and refine core user-facing features, including intercom call handling, notifications, and call history.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs (Twilio, Firebase, Clerk, Stripe).
• Optimize app performance, responsiveness, and reliability.
• Work closely with design and product to improve UX and deliver seamless onboarding.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and help improve our technical processes.
• Troubleshoot bugs and deliver quick fixes to maintain a high-quality user experience.
• Deploy updates to the App Store and manage release cycles.

• 3+ years of mobile engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping apps.
• Expertise with React Native and Expo.
• Strong understanding of mobile UX and design principles.
• Familiarity with integrating APIs and third-party SDKs (e.g., Firebase, Twilio, Stripe).
• Experience with state management, navigation libraries, and offline data handling.
• Solid understanding of debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities evolve quickly.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Exposure to VoIP or real-time communications (Call Kit, push notifications).
