CRF Support Worker (Casual)
The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a CRF Support Worker (Casual) to join our Community Resource Facility. This position is a casual role based in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Job DescriptionPosition: Community Resource Facility (CRF) Support Worker (Casual)
Objective: Ensure proper supervision and support for each CSC client as required by The Salvation Army, the Correctional Service of Canada, and funding policies.
Supervision: Directly supervised by the Manager, Community Resource Facility.
Qualifications- Education: Preference for applicants enrolled in Criminology or related courses (first year) toward a diploma from a recognized college or university. Not essential.
- Good communication skills.
- Current First Aid/CPR or willingness to be trained.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training or willingness to be trained.
Experience: None required; preference for applicants with a correctional or social service background.
Responsibilities- Enforce house rules to residents.
- Assist with logging in/out of CSC clients; spot‑check residents' whereabouts and document results.
- Conduct bed checks and security rounds, and document in the CSC Duty Log.
- Pack and inventory client effects.
- Assist with storing and recording client medications.
- Contact the RDO when necessary and document situations.
- Fill out UAL form & fax to VPD when required.
- Distribute meal tickets to residents according to procedure.
- Maintain confidential (Protected “B”) resident documentation.
- File all CSC documents securely.
- Build relationships with Parole Officers, CRF staff, police, and other correctional personnel.
- Intake new clients in caseworker absence.
- Prepare blank intake document packages.
- Attend case conferences as required.
- Assist in conducting room searches.
- Provide wake‑up calls for clients.
- Distribute funds when necessary.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Manager, Community Resource Facility.
- Demonstrate compassion and respect in policy administration.
- Develop professionally through workshops and conferences.
- Pass applicable screening and background checks, providing an original copy of a Background Check screening.
Pay: per the Collective Agreement.
Target hiring range: $25.10 to $25.35 per hour, with a maximum of $25.60.
