Job Title:
Data Technician
Join a leading electrical contractor specializing in commercial and industrial projects across the BC Lower Mainland. This role involves the installation of various types of data cabling for voice, data, WiFi, audio-visual, and security systems in commercial buildings. The position requires physical work, including lifting reels and boxes of cable, climbing ladders, working on lifts, and navigating tight spaces. You will work in new construction sites, warehouses, and finished office buildings, primarily throughout the Lower Mainland.
Responsibilities- Set up ladders and prepare cables and materials for use.
- Install, pull, and test structured and network cabling.
- Terminate cable ends using various hand and power tools.
- Splice, repair, and replace existing cabling as needed.
- Document work completed according to job specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Work on projects from beginning to end, alone or as part of a team.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a cable technician.
- Experience with commercial and/or tenant improvement (TI) projects.
- Proficiency with Cat 5/6 cable and/or fiber optic cabling.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in electrical, conduit, construction, wiring, conduit bending, pulling wire, and bending conduit.
- Telecommunications and cable experience.

WorkEnvironment
Work with a growing team of currently 40 electricians, with plans to expand to over 60. Enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule with occasional flexibility depending on project needs and deadlines. The position offers a supportive work environment with a focus on safety and collaboration.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Vancouver, BC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr.
Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Vancouver, BC.
