Job Summary

The General Repair Technician II is a mid entry-level position, responsible for assisting other technicians, performing maintenance and repair, and routine services on non‑technical facility components (i.e., walls, floors, etc.). The Technician II also performs work in accordance with established processes and practices and complies with internal and external requirements including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection.

• Provide observations about facility equipment and systems conditions and propose enhancements.
• Perform work following established processes and practices.
• Comply with all internal and external requirements such as environmental, health and safety, and fire protection.
• Monitor and inspect facility technical and non‑technical components.
• Respond to routine service requests, perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Operate facility mechanical, electrical and other systems.
• Manage work‑order life cycle from dispatch to completion, recording resolution data in the service maintenance database.
• Assist in implementing the preventative maintenance program, ensuring deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated.
• Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through positive relations in work delivery.
• Record and report maintenance status, initiate approval documents, participate in facility‑related projects.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and legislative policies, maintain tools, submit timely expenditures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of facility operations and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of facility operations and maintenance processes.
• Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair non‑technical components.
• Strong understanding of fire, life, and building codes and standards.
• Environment, health and safety mindset.
• Client‑service orientation with high sense of urgency.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Self‑motivated, computer literate.
• Demonstrated maintenance and repair skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, on‑call, emergency call‑outs, wear PPE, meet enhanced security clearance, valid driver’s license.

• Interest or pursuit of a diploma or certificate, or in process thereof.
• Higher security clearance met.
• Assets:
  Building Operator Certificate, Building Systems Maintenance Certificate (SMC), Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA), Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT), Facilities Technician Certification, trade license, Building Environment Systems (BES) Operation Class 1.
