Security Guard

Overview

We are currently looking for Security Officers to join our team at various sites throughout the Lower Mainland. This is a great opportunity to build your career while making a difference in your community.

• Conduct regular foot patrols, monitor CCTV cameras, provide first aid, manage lost & found, write detailed incident reports (Campus Security Officers).
• Respond to alarms and emergency requests with de‑escalation skills (Healthcare Officers).
• Swiftly respond to alarms, report security breaches and property damage, lead in emergency situations supporting the Operations Centre Team (Mobile Division).
• Conduct regular patrols, monitor entrances, authorize access, secure exits, respond to alarms (Office Towers and Government Buildings).
• Perform constant patrols, interact with tenants and public, promote customer service, handle emergencies, enforce rules, conduct arrests, remove vagrants (Shopping Centres).

• Excellent customer service and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written; experience writing incident reports.
• Valid BC Security Worker License (or BST certification).
• Physical ability to stand/patrol for the majority of an 8‑hour shift.
• Confidence interacting with team, client personnel, public and emergency services.
• Experience in security is an asset; customer service or volunteering experience is beneficial.
• Confidence leading in emergency situations (trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids).
• Attention to detail in spotting and reporting irregularities.
• Basic tech skills: writing reports on computer, tracking patrols on smartphone, two‑way radio communication.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Starting at $18.50/hour – $22.00/hour depending on site or program.

Class 5 BC Driver’s License and personal vehicle preferred; additional certifications such as Occupational First Aid Level 2, Advanced Security Training, or Marine Transportation Security Clearance are a plus.
