Position: Security Guard - Marine Transport Security Clearance (MTSC) Site

Overview

We are currently looking for experienced Security Officers to work in a dynamic Marine Security environment. We are looking to fill full-time positions and preference will be given to applicants with an open availability. Please make sure you state your availability in the application and be specific as to exact times and days of the week you can work, including how many hours per week you can work.

All applicants must meet the qualification criteria for Marine Transport Security Clearance to be considered for this position.

Job Skills / Requirements

The position requires a valid Marine Transportation Security Clearance (MTSC) and a Class 5 BC Driver's License with a clean abstract.

Responsibilities
  • Patrolling all site property, buildings, fences, and gates using a Paladin vehicle and on foot.
  • Traffic management on site roadways, including truck queuing/staging as required.
  • Access control, including confiscating cancelled, expired, or missing badges.
  • Responding to intrusion alarms and disruptions involving site property.
  • Immediately informing the client of any serious incident or threat of an incident.
  • Emergency response as directed.
  • Cooperating with the client and all agencies responsible for the enforcement of criminal and environmental statutes.
  • Providing the client with regular and timely incident reports.
  • Participating in training, planning, and execution of site security and emergency drills and exercises.
  • Participating in crime prevention initiatives identified by the client in conjunction with local municipalities.
  • Other duties as required to meet operational needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Calm demeanor in all situations, including emergencies and incidents.
  • Ability to detect problems and communicate information to the appropriate personnel.
  • Proficient knowledge of security procedures, handling violent behaviors, and non-defensive communication.
  • Ability to follow, understand, and enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation.
  • Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion.
  • Professional appearance and strong deportment in public-facing roles.
  • Physically capable of completing all aspects of the assigned duties.
Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Superior verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Must be willing and able to pass additional security clearances.
  • Valid Marine Transportation Security Clearance (MTSC).
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
