The North Island Project is currently focused on advancing the mineral resource deposits of Northwest Expo, Goodspeed, Hushamu and Red Dog with ongoing exploration on other targets within the 40 Km long highly prospective project area.

Position

Field Geologist – Fixed Term March 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026 (can start May 1, 2026 and end August 31, 2026 for any students).

Overview

We are seeking Field Geologists to join our team, reporting directly to the Senior Exploration Geologists. This role will contribute to the execution of our exploration programs across a worldclass porphyry copper-gold district. The Field Geologist will support field programs with multiple crews and contractors, and play a key role in advancing our technical understanding of the property’s prospects and deposits.

The ideal candidate thrives in remote environments, and brings a safety-first mindset while excelling in collaborative team settings.

The Field Geologist will work a 14 day on, 14 day off rotation in Port Hardy, BC.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support field programs including geological mapping, geophysics, soil/stream sediment sampling, and prospecting.
  • Collaborate and contribute to deposit and district-scale geological models (lithology, structure, alteration, mineralization).
  • Analyze and interpret varied datasets to generate and prioritize exploration targets.
  • Ensure best-practice standards for data collection, management, and QA/QC are implemented and maintained.
  • Assist in preparation of technical reports, presentations, figures and updates for Exploration Manager and Vice President Exploration.
Qualifications
  • B.Sc. or Masters in Geology or Earth Science
  • 2-3 years of mineral exploration experience, or Master’s with some experience working with mineral exploration companies, with porphyry copper-gold and epithermal system exposure strongly preferred.
  • Experience or exposure to field or drill programs (preferably multi-rig) is an asset.
  • Strong technical skills in core logging, alteration/mineral system mapping and interpretation, and 3D geological modeling.
  • Familiarity with BC exploration permitting and regulatory requirements, or comparable requirements from other jurisdictions, is desirable.
  • Proficiency in geological software (Leapfrog Geo, MX Deposit) and GIS platforms (ArcGIS/QGIS) is highly regarded.
  • Strong data management, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in rugged field conditions and supervise crews in remote settings.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License (or ability to obtain).
  • Registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) is highly regarded.
Pay Transparency

The Field Geologist daily rate will be depending on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies and considers internal equity and is anticipated to be between $500 - $700 per day.

Travel to and from the candidate’s point of origin, a per diem and an apartment will be provided.
