East Penn Canada is currently seeking dynamic and highly driven professionals to join their growing team in the Vancouver area.

The Sales & Business Development Rep - Transportation reports to the Regional Sales Manager and will be responsible for account management for a high volume of the existing key and national accounts that sit within the assigned territory. The role is also responsible for the development of new business. The activity split between these two accountabilities is approximately 75% account management and 25% new business development.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing role as a trusted advisor and providing exceptional levels of service in managing an average of 200 key and national East Penn Canada customer accounts
  • Performing account management activities during scheduled visits to customer sites, such as inventory maintenance, warranty support, facilitation of product training/demonstrations, and performing audits of East Penn product displays, ensuring accurate execution
  • Conducting monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, or semi-yearly business review meetings with dealer principals, general managers, parts department managers, and other key stakeholders involved in the selling of East Penn products
  • Promoting continuous growth of wallet share through audit and evaluation of existing customer product mix, and identification of up-selling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Prospecting identified sales targets with consistency to build strong, long-lasting business relationships and obtain new customer accounts to grow market share
  • Use of Salesforce CRM for all account maintenance and sales-related activities, such as maintaining customer profiles with up-to-date contact and site information, logging customer calls and scheduling follow-ups, sending targeted email campaigns, proposals, and quotes, and monitoring sales pipeline health through use of activity reports and dashboards
  • Providing input on quarterly sales forecasts and regular overviews of the competitive landscape within the representative’s coverage area
  • 5+ years of high-volume account management experience
  • 3-5 years of new business development experience (experienced gained within battery, automotive, industrial products, or general manufacturing sectors an asset)
  • Extremely strong customer focus with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships
  • Proven sales ability with knowledge of sales techniques and strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills
  • Self-directed, works independently; results driven/initiative

Other Considerations:

  • This role requires regular daily travel within the assigned territory, and will also require occasional overnight travel following a suitable training and ramp-up period (20-25% or three to four nights per month, on average)
  • This role requires use of employee's personal vehicle for work travel purposes (generous car allowance and company gas card included in total rewards package)
  • Background checks including criminal checks, employment references, and driver's abstracts will be requested
  • Expected hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000 annually plus sales incentive - paid mo (exact annual salary offered to the successful applicant will be determined by the candidate's experience, education, related knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
