GENERAL MANAGER

Full-time – 40 hours per week

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year (experience and fit dependent)

1933 Liquor Co. is a fast-growing liquor retailer with a strong e-commerce and delivery presence. We’re looking for a hands-on, results-driven General Manager who can lead daily operations, drive revenue growth, and build a high-performing team across retail, e-commerce, and corporate sales channels.

This role owns day-to-day execution, team leadership, and performance outcomes. You will work through team leads while remaining hands-on where needed to ensure standards, accountability, and execution remain high. If you’re a builder, a leader, and someone who takes ownership, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop the store team; set clear expectations, build accountability, and foster a strong, positive work culture.
  • Set the tone for a respectful, accountable, and high-performance work environment.
  • Oversee daily operations including scheduling, store presentation, task completion, and staff performance.
  • Drive revenue growth across retail, e-commerce, delivery platforms, and corporate/B2B sales.
  • Own oversight of e-commerce operations, including order flow, fulfillment accuracy, delivery performance, platform standards, and customer experience across online channels.
  • Analyze sales performance, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and implement changes to improve profitability.
  • Provide direction and oversight across product ordering, promotions, merchandising execution, and vendor relationships to ensure alignment with sales strategy.
  • Ensure store layout, visual standards, and product flow support a high-conversion shopping experience.
  • Maintain strong customer experience standards, address escalated issues, and protect store ratings across in-store and online channels.
  • Be a visible leader on the floor—engaging with customers, supporting staff, and leading by example.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, communicate priorities clearly, and keep the team aligned on goals and expectations.
  • Support basic marketing execution such as social content ideas, in-store features, and product highlights.
  • Provide clear weekly updates and reports to ownership on sales performance, team execution, customer feedback, and operational issues.
Who You Are
  • A confident, hands-on retail leader who can motivate, direct, and develop a team.
  • Revenue-focused, analytical, and driven by results and continuous improvement.
  • Highly organized, consistent, and comfortable holding people accountable.
  • Comfortable working with sales data, reports, and performance trends.
  • Strong communicator who can clearly present information to both staff and ownership.
  • Possess a solid foundational understanding of the liquor industry, products, and retail environment (or the ability to quickly build it).
  • Passionate about wine, beer, spirits, and ongoing product education.
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of retail experience (liquor, specialty retail, grocery, or similar).
  • 3+ years in a management or supervisory role with direct team leadership.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume retail environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with e-commerce, delivery platforms, or omni-channel retail operations.
  • Must be 19+ with a valid Serving It Right certificate prior to start date.
Assets
  • Experience with retail marketing or social media execution.
  • WSET Level 2 or 3, or interest in continued product education.
Why Work With Us
  • Basic health and dental benefits plan.
  • Opportunity to participate in a discretionary performance-based bonus program tied to business performance and execution.
  • Staff discount on wine, beer, spirits, and RTDs.
  • Opportunity to grow with a business expanding across retail, e-commerce, and corporate sales.
  • Fast-paced, supportive team environment with ongoing product education.
