Position Summary

Our Chef de Cuisine, Suites will be the key back‑of‑house “Playmaker”—dynamic, adaptable, and motivating his/her team to achieve culinary supremacy. You will uphold an innovative culinary philosophy, creating fresh and nutritious cuisine that is aligned with a high‑end arena fare.

As the Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day back‑of‑house suite culinary operations that deliver superior and exemplary service of outstanding food to our fans, and for the daily supervision and production of culinary operations. You have the ability to put together key relational, financial and leadership ingredients to build a team that implicitly believes in you. Through motivating and leading your team members, you will create unforgettable experiences for fans on their plates.

You will deliver a culinary experience as fast, exiting and luring as the game itself.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide the ultimate culinary experience for our internal and external fanbase.
  • Lead the culinary journey for our private suite season ticket holders and their guests.
  • Lead the culinary team to identify, evaluate, and continually improve service strategies to always ensure our fans’ needs are 1st.
  • Provide leadership, development, and motivation of team to ensure fan‑focused delivery is always paramount through consistent delivery of high‑quality food in a thrilling atmosphere.
  • Ensure great guest service through consistent and timely execution of all menus and recipes, training, and accountability of the culinary team in execution and by obtaining regular feedback through suite visits, premium client service member and fellow suite professionals.
  • Oversee the hiring and training of all culinary team members, maximizing productivity and morale through team member engagement and ongoing development, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels per business needs.
  • Responsible for the overall management of culinary staff including supervising activities of cooks and stewards.
  • Participate in the menu planning and development and planning for all suites needs.
  • Engage with fans, as well as team members to ensure exceptional hospitality is received at all times.
  • Responsible for the safe service of food items and ensure we meet Vancouver Board of Health compliance.
  • Maintain sanitation standards throughout the kitchens to comply with Provincial regulations.
  • Oversee inventory of food product and coordinate product ordering and receiving within corporate specifications.
  • Ensure food quality in presentation and production throughout the venue.
  • Support the mentorship and development of all culinary team members daily.
  • Partner with other Hospitality and Rogers Arena Leadership to ensure a successful operation.
  • Develop strong working relationships with suppliers and ability to benchmark food costing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
You Must Have
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef or Sous Chef at a similar sized facility/scope.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as Chef, experience in an entertainment‑based facility an asset.
  • Equivalent Red Seal certification, a degree in the Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Impeccable creative culinary abilities.
  • An inspiring leader who has proven skills rallying a team to achieve its highest potential, and then driving it to the next level.
  • Highly committed to a premium level of quality.
  • Skilled at developing and creating dining experiences that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Displays a positive attitude, maintains enthusiasm and celebrates success.
  • Understanding of and proven execution of Industry business principles.
  • Computer literate in systems related to the department.
  • Level 1 and Level 2 Food Safe Certification.
  • Serving It Right License.
