March 31, 2027. This position is 30% Full Time Equivalent (FTE). Expected salary range: $20,679.60 - $25,987.50 per year based on 12 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake a literature review on species responses to fire.
  • Review responses to fire of key species across Canada.
  • Compare modelling approaches and techniques to assess changes in growth pre and post fire.
  • Prepare results for high‑quality peer reviewed journal articles.
Qualifications

• Ph.D. and a minimum of 5 years postdoctoral research experience in forest ecology, silviculture, and climate assessments.

• Demonstrated expertise in undertaking reviews and modelling responses of trees to climate and fire.

• Strong publication record in the last 7 years and good knowledge of statistical modelling techniques.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work in a dynamic research team and manage a project with defined milestones and timelines.

Anticipated start date will be April 1, 2026 for one year, with possibility of extension subject to grant funding availability.
