** Job Summary
** We are currently looking for a full-time Research Coordinator, to support the pan-Canadian research project called, Pandemic pREparedness engaging Primary cARe and Emergency Departments (PREPARED). The purpose of this study is to enhance surveillance, improve care and health system efficiency, accelerate biomanufacturing of diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics, and facilitate linkage to clinical trials. This position will be based at different clinics (TBD) in the lower mainland of BC and is a
** 1-year term appointment with possible extension**. Integrated within a busy, multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will work closely with research staff, and report to the principal investigator and/or research program manager of study. They will get prepared to delve into a career that not only satisfies their intellectual curiosity but also makes a tangible impact on human health and well-being.

** Organizational Status
** The Research Coordinator reports directly to Drs. Rubee Dev and Sabrina Wong of the BC-PHCRN and collaborates with the lead of the pan-Canadian PREPARED study, Dr. Andrew Pinto. The Research Coordinator will also work collaboratively with other research assistants and coordinators across the provinces to communicate and troubleshoot any issues, and participate in regular teleconferences and face-to-face meetings.

** Work Performed
*** Coordinates provincial implementation if the PREPARED research project, including implementation, data collection and planning and implementation of various aspects of the research project
* Assists in the preparation of study-related documents and reports
* Supports with REB submissions by drafting amendments, and tracking of changes to study documents
* Contacts, recruits, screen, and enroll study participants
* Coordinates the consent of eligible participants on-site
* Collects biospecimens from eligible participants at consenting clinics through nasal swabs
* Oversees documentation of data collection and inputs relevant data into databases (REDCap)
* Maintains accurate and detailed records of research activities by creating weekly reports
* Coordinates shipment and storage of collected samples
* Coordinates with other departments and staff involved in the study
* Conducts literature reviews and support writing of research articles
* Performs other tasks and responsibilities as required in support of the unit or department within scope of this position
** Consequence of Error/Judgement
** This position requires working effectively within an organizational structure as well as a high degree of self-direction. The research coordinator will be required to show judgment and decision-making, which has the potential to impact the reputation of the BC-PHCRN lab, and the opportunity for future research development. The direction of the research initiatives will be discussed at regular meetings with Drs.

Dev and Wong and the project team. Regular reporting will also be required to the project team and stakeholder groups as defined by the research project component.
