About the Position:This role involves investigations and adherence to BC SPCA policies, regulations, and guidelines. Candidates must be a Special Provincial Constable (SPC) or meet the criteria for appointment.
Responsibilities include:- Must be 19 years or older.
- High school diploma required; post-secondary preferred.
- Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.
- Completion of BC SPCA Introduction to Cruelty Investigations Course.
- Pass the SPC and Animal Protection Officer exams.
- Complete a minimum of 3 Justice Institute courses or equivalents.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in BC SPCA Shelter Software.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and animal characteristics.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Eligibility for appointment as SPC under the Police Act.
- Ability to work independently and travel throughout the region.
- Criminal Record Check and psychological assessment.
- Alignment with BC SPCA’s mission and values.
