St. Paul's Hospital is currently accepting applications for the Emergency Educational Program. This is an opportunity for Registered Nurses (RNs) to pursue a specialty Certificate through the BCIT Emergency Program. Providence Health Care provides 100% funding for the tuition, books, and wage. Upon successful completion of the program, you will work in the Emergency Department l’s Hospital.

- You will get hands-on training to work in various areas of the Emergency Department such as triage and trauma, to diversify your nursing practice.
Reporting to the Operations Leader, the Registered Nurse:
- Assesses, identifies, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care required to assist patients/residents in meeting their physical, social, spiritual and psychological needs using an established framework for nursing practice.
- Develops, implements, evaluates and revises the plan of care.
- Incorporates individual and/or group teaching into the care plan and nursing interventions and/or makes referrals to other identified resources.
- Supports other nurses and health care professionals by collegially sharing information and demonstrating procedures.
The Registered Nurse works within an interdisciplinary clinical framework in accordance with the BCCNM Standards of Practice and consistent with the mission, vision and values and established protocols of Providence Health Care.

What You Bring Education:Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Post-Basic Education Funding:
Eligibility for Post-Basic Education is restricted to applicant(s) with a minimum of 1-2 year medical/surgical experience (2 years preferred) and who have not received Post-Basic Education Funding from PHC for the past 2 years. Applicant must successfully complete the Post-Basic Education prior to working in the Department.
