The Equity Internship Program (EIP) is a 12 to 24 month internship program for those that identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) and/or Two‑Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and/or other community members (2
SLGBTQIA+).
- Encourage BIPOC and 2
SLGBTQIA+ people to consider careers within SDPR - Recruit a more representative workforce
- Support the development of leadership skills for BIPOC and 2
SLGBTQIA+ people - Help address social and economic barriers that exist for BIPOC and 2
SLGBTQIA+ people

Education and Experience Requirements
- Self‑identify as BIPOC and/or 2
SLGBTQIA+ - Live in BC while employed with the BC Public Service
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (e.g., GED)
- Two years demonstrated leadership skills and experience
Related leadership experience may be gained through work, community or volunteer opportunities and may include:
- Managing projects or project components
- Supporting the design, delivery, and/or evaluation of projects or programs
- Searching, gathering, and examining information and summarizing the research findings
- Developing presentations, and/or support materials for meetings or events
- Organizing and prioritizing your and/or other people’s work
We have one (1) full‑time temporary opportunity from September 2026 until August 2027:
- Policy Coordinator on the Inclusive Employment team
This position can be based in any Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (SDPR) office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
