AN IMPACT

Reporting to the Director, Cops for Cancer, this role works closely with a national team accountable for one of Canada’s most unique cycling tours to support the program’s logistical and administrative needs. As the Cops for Cancer Coordinator, you will support all 4 Cops for Cancer tours across BC with a focus on Tour de Valley (Fraser Valley). This includes being the point of contact for event participants and general community inquiries, coordinating event logistics and attending event as a Canadian Cancer Society representative.

The coordinator position is a dynamic position with significant potential to grow and learn. The candidate must be self‑motivated, proactive problem‑solver and well‑organized.

What is Cops for Cancer?

The Cops for Cancer Program is the largest fundraiser of pediatric cancer research and Camp Goodtimes. Through this life‑changing program, public servants make a difference and support children and their families living with cancer. This unique and vibrant cycling tour invites childhood cancer survivors and their families to feel like they are part of the first responder community, creating life‑long bonds between kids and first responder riders.

As the Cops for Cancer coordinator, you will support all 4 Cops for Cancer tours and take part in forging these bonds, creating memories for kids, raising life‑changing funds and planning one of the most impactful cycling events in Canada.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Assists Director in managing the logistical needs of Tour de Valley including special events coordination, permits, insurance requests
  • Supports the Cops for Cancer team across BC through data collection and development of tools and resources related to the First Responder Programs
  • Maintains event logistics documents such as critical paths and budgets
  • Supports in effectively implementing and executing Cops for Cancer event(s) of 5+ days to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Coaches and motivates riders, community groups and schools to fundraise in order to achieve Tour and program fundraising targets
  • Assists Director in maintaining collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders including staff, volunteers, external vendors and other partners and first responder agencies
  • Represents CCS at Cops for Cancer events and on assigned tour(s)
  • Arranges logistics for various training conferences, including collation and distribution of training materials
Operations, Administration and Financial Management with a focus on Tour de Valley
  • Leading the execution and growth of Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley, partnering with senior leadership, national teams, volunteer steering committees and first responder agencies to deliver multi‑day fundraising events exceeding $300k+ in revenue
  • Drive fundraising performance through proactive opportunity identification, creative program enhancements, data‑informed choices, and consistent engagement with volunteers, sponsors, participants and donors
  • Assists Tour Steering Committees’ administrative needs by providing monthly reports, taking meeting minutes and tracking action items
  • Assists with the Director’s administrative needs by setting up external meetings and appointments, managing expense claims, invoices and receipts and other tasks as assigned
  • Maintains the integrity of the CRM by complying with policies and procedures for data collection and entry systems
