About the role:We’re hiring a Head of Marketing to build Durable’s marketing engine end-to-end. You’ll sit on the leadership team and own growth, brand marketing and product marketing, from first touch to paid conversion to long-term retention. Our product team is in the top percentile of shipping velocity, our GTM team must match that energy.
This is not a typical exec role. You will ship, test, break, and rebuild things yourself.
If you prefer decks, long planning cycles, or delegating before doing, this role will frustrate you.
You’ll work inside the product as much as around it: shaping positioning, onboarding, lifecycle, pricing moments, and upgrade paths. You’ll run fast, scrappy experiments across acquisition and activation, start programs based on what’s working right now at modern PLG and AI-native companies, and turn signal into repeatable playbooks without waiting for perfect data or layers of approvals. You will ship prototypes and production level apps.
You’ll lead a small, high-leverage team across brand and product marketing, lifecycle, GEO, and social, but you’ll stay hands‑on. Expect to write copy, launch tests, dig into analytics, and use AI tools to move faster than teams 10x your size.
Our ideal candidate has scaled an early stage startup (revenue) by orders of magnitude, enjoys shipping weekly, killing bad ideas quickly, and is an owner. We also love former founders.
This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver. We are in‑office twice per week on Mondays and Thursdays.
What you’ll do:Build product‑led growth
- Build an AI‑native marketing engine
- Own core positioning and messaging
- Partner tightly with product to shape onboarding, activation flows, pricing, and upgrade paths
- Define ICPs and jobs‑to‑be‑done, then turn them into in‑product and lifecycle experiments
- Make the product do more of the selling over time
Build brand marketing as a growth engine
- Establish Durable as the default AI business platform for independent entrepreneurs
- Make Durable a top‑of‑mind AI tool through PR and founder‑led storytelling
- Build scalable acquisition channels across paid, SEO/GEO, organic social, and partnerships
- Tie brand directly to signups, conversion, retention, and revenue
Own revenue and growth like an operator
- Own acquisition, activation, retention, and marketing‑driven revenue outcomes
- Run a high‑tempo experimentation engine across paid, organic, lifecycle, and product surfaces
- Manage CAC, LTV, conversion rates, and payback with a bias toward ROI, not optics
- Manage the marketing budget, headcount, and be ruthless about tracking the numbers that matter
Lead a lean team
- Build and lead a small team that punches above its weight
- Set clear priorities and move fast with imperfect information
- Collaborate deeply with Product, Customer Success, and leadership
- You’ve built or rebuilt a marketing function at a high‑growth company with 50 people
- You’re an ideator at heart: you generate and ship new growth and brand ideas without needing permission, process, or polish
- You’ve shipped product marketing: positioning, onboarding, lifecycle, pricing, and upgrades
- You’ve driven real growth in scrappy environments with minimal structure
- You’ve personally run experiments, no hiding behind agencies or giant teams
- You bring strong performance marketing fundamentals and know how to scale spend responsibly
- You have high agency, strong judgment, and a bias to action
- You are quality obsessed and have a knack for pushing your team to deliver excellent work (over volume, always)
