One of our clients in Vancouver, BC region is looking for a Maintenance Manager for their manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance & Reliability

  • Oversee maintenance of printing and packaging equipment (Flexo/Gravure presses, Offset presses, Laminators, Slitters, Bag-making machines, Corrugation lines, etc.).
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to reduce downtime.
  • Ensure machine calibration, alignment, and performance optimization.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical support and spare parts supply.
  • Lead, train, and supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, and mechanics.
  • Assign daily maintenance tasks and monitor team performance.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and enforce proper use of tools and PPE.

Process Improvement

  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase machine uptime, reduce waste, and improve production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to support smooth operations.

Planning & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, HACCP, and safety standards (as applicable).
  • Prepare maintenance budgets, plan spare parts inventory, and control costs.
  • Schedule and execute shutdown maintenance and equipment overhauls.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all machinery meets legal and safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Train staff on emergency procedures and safe machine operation.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 10+ years of maintenance experience in printing, packaging, corrugation, or related manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Flexographic/gravure/offset printing systems
  • PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, and basic automation
  • Pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial electrical systems
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
