Maintenance Manager

One of our clients in Vancouver, BC region is looking for a Maintenance Manager for their manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Oversee maintenance of printing and packaging equipment (Flexo/Gravure presses, Offset presses, Laminators, Slitters, Bag-making machines, Corrugation lines, etc.).
- Develop, implement, and monitor Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to reduce downtime.
- Ensure machine calibration, alignment, and performance optimization.
- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical support and spare parts supply.
- Lead, train, and supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, and mechanics.
- Assign daily maintenance tasks and monitor team performance.
- Promote a safety-first culture and enforce proper use of tools and PPE.
Process Improvement
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase machine uptime, reduce waste, and improve production efficiency.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to support smooth operations.
Planning & Documentation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, HACCP, and safety standards (as applicable).
- Prepare maintenance budgets, plan spare parts inventory, and control costs.
- Schedule and execute shutdown maintenance and equipment overhauls.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all machinery meets legal and safety requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Train staff on emergency procedures and safe machine operation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- 10+ years of maintenance experience in printing, packaging, corrugation, or related manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Flexographic/gravure/offset printing systems
- PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, and basic automation
- Pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial electrical systems
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
