JOB SUMMARY

As a Lift Operations Team Lead, you will assist in the daily operations of the Summer Lift Operators team. You will be responsible for break coverage, assisting with basic maintenance tasks, supporting lift operations staff and any other assigned tasks. You are a key and important member of the Mountain Operations team, ensuring a safe and exceptional experience for all lift operators on your assigned crew as well as mountain guests.

ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assist with the training, coaching and overseeing of lift operations staff
  • Assist with pre-operational checks & closing procedures and conducting daily lift inspections
  • Ensuring adequate staffing levels for efficient lift operation
  • Coaching and motivating staff to maintain a high standard of customer service
  • Assist with the training of staff on all operating and safety procedures of fixed grip chairlifts
  • Covering breaks for lift staff when required
  • Assist with the preparation of schedules
  • Reporting guest comments, employee relations issues and liability concerns directly to the Duty Manager
  • Assisting with litter picks, sweeping pathways and washroom checks
  • Assisting with daily office tasks
  • All other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position reports to the Lift Operations Supervisor and Mountain Operations Duty Managers, and involves overseeing the Lift Operators team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
  • Minimum 1 season (winter or summer) of lift operations experience
  • Knowledge of Grouse Mountain Resort policies and procedures
  • Possess proven leadership abilities
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Class 5 Drivers License preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS

Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$19.74 to $23.09/hour
