Position Overview

Audi Downtown Vancouver is looking for a General Manager to play a key leadership role in overseeing the operational and strategic performance of the dealership. This position reports directly to the Regional Director of Operations and is responsible for driving sales performance, leading services, ensuring operational excellence across all departments, and fostering a high‑performing and customer‑centric team culture.

The General Manager provides direction to both Sales Managers and Fixed Operations Manager, ensures adherence to corporate policies and processes, and contributes to dealership profitability through effective leadership, forecasting, and performance management.

Compensation for this position is a combination of salary and commission.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Guide sales managers and sales teams in setting long‑ and short‑term performance objectives.
  • Direct Sales Managers in establishing sales and gross profit goals for new vehicle sales teams.
  • Assist the Regional Director of Operations in forecasting controllable expenses for both Variable and Fixed Operations.
  • Ensure sales managers understand and consistently enforce dealership policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Review quarterly performance reports with sales managers to assess gross profit results for new vehicle salespeople.
  • Support the development and implementation of improvement programs to help the sales department meet strategic objectives.
  • Conduct daily and/or weekly sales training meetings as directed by the Regional Director of Operations.
  • Oversee dealership image initiatives and ensure brand standards are consistently upheld.
  • Ensure a high level of product knowledge is maintained across the sales department.
  • Oversee and ensure adherence to the New Vehicle Delivery process.
  • Review and monitor the management of incoming sales calls and customer inquiries.
  • Assist sales staff in closing deals when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of showroom floor traffic.
  • Participate in Managers’ meetings as required.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with factory representatives and manufacturer partners.
Qualifications Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Manager within an automotive dealership.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high‑performing teams.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards for vehicle delivery processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, team members, and senior leadership.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Self‑motivated, driven, and committed to achieving business objectives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Experience working with automotive retail tools including 180 and ADP.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
