Base pay range

CA $88,990.00/yr - CA$/yr

HEABC takes a provincial leadership role in human resources and labour relations, including disability management, issues management for more than 218 publicly funded health care employers. HEABC is responsible for negotiating six major provincial agreements covering more than 138,000 unionized health care employees including nurses, health science professionals, ambulance paramedics and dispatchers, physician residents, and support workers in both facilities and community settings.

The successful candidate may be permitted to work in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and flexible work location) and will live within commuting distance of our Vancouver office.

Opportunity

The Senior Project Manager leads complex initiatives that advance HEABC’s strategic goals and operational priorities. Working within the Project Management Office (PMO) framework, this role delivers projects that improve business processes, systems, and services across HEABC and the broader healthcare sector.

The Senior Project Manager applies proven project management and change management practices to guide teams from concept to implementation. This includes defining scope, managing risk, engaging partners, and ensuring adoption of new processes and tools. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to build consensus, manage competing priorities, and deliver results within scope, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of projects following HEABC PMO standards and governance practices.
  • Define and manage project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success measures aligned with strategic and operational priorities.
  • Coordinate project teams and vendors, ensuring clear accountability, effective communication, and timely decision‑making.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues; manage changes and dependencies across initiatives.
  • Facilitate steering committee and working group meetings, ensuring progress and decision tracking.
  • Support organizational change management, communication, and training to ensure adoption and sustainability of project outcomes.
  • Track and report project performance, progress, and benefits realization using PMO reporting tools.
  • Mentor and support PMO colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement of project management standards and tools.
Required Education, Experience & Knowledge
