Development Manager
or Senior Development Manager (title to be determined based on experience) to help lead the execution of our upcoming projects.
Position Overview:This role will take ownership of large-scale urban development projects from acquisition through to completion. You will work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery — from early design and entitlements to construction and final handover. This position reports directly to senior leadership and plays a key role in the ongoing evolution of Landa’s project pipeline and corporate strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of the development lifecycle for multi-family and mixed-use projects
- Manage consultants, architects, and municipal approvals through the rezoning, development permit, and building permit process
- Coordinate internal teams including sales&marketing, construction, and customer care
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, pro formas, and ensure financial objectives are met
- Maintain strong working relationships with city staff, community stakeholders, and industry partners
- Monitor risk factors, resolve project-related issues, and proactively manage timelines and approvals
- Support broader corporate strategy and contribute to organizational growth
Qualifications:
- 6-10+ years of progressive experience in real estate development (title dependent on experience)
- Demonstrated experience managing complex residential and/or mixed-use projects
- Solid understanding of municipal planning, rezoning, and permitting processes in Metro Vancouver
- Strong financial analysis skills with experience in pro forma modeling and budget oversight
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Passionate about architecture, design, and creating meaningful places that stand the test of time
