Salary: CAD 75,000 annually.
Accountability ObjectiveUnder the direction of the General Manager, the Health and Wellness Manager is responsible for the health and wellness of residents in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and standards of Verve Senior Living.
Background/Qualifications- Recognized nursing license (LPN) in good standing.
- Excellent leadership skills, demonstrated through the Diversicare/Verve Senior Living Competencies model.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel); experience in a union setting preferred.
- Preference for individuals with 2+ years of experience working with seniors.
- A resident‑oriented individual whose visions and values align with those of Diversicare.
- Participate in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program.
- Complete pre‑move‑in and ongoing assessments of residents’ health and wellness needs, and recommend suitability for residence or additional support.
- Ensure resident files are established with proper documentation and medication administration practices.
- Organize plans of care to promote resident independence, adhering to RHRA legislation.
- Update residents’ plans of care every six months or as required.
- Recruit, interview, and select new employees; conduct annual performance appraisals and address performance issues.
- Prepare staff scheduling, including shift changes, vacation and leaves.
- Hold regular department meetings to communicate updates per Verve policies.
- Provide input on capital and operational budgets and variance reports.
- Manage department finances, inventory, purchasing, and review revenue‑generating initiatives.
- Approve invoices.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislation; participate in in‑services and fire drills; enforce infection prevention protocols.
- Recommend policy and procedure modifications.
- Participate in operations meetings.
- Complete all required mandatory training/education.
- Build internal and external relationships with residents, families, hospitals, government departments, etc., to ensure optimal wellness outcomes.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to raise awareness of the residence and services.
- Perform other related tasks as delegated by the General Manager.
