Coast’sClubhouse is a place for individuals to access support through staff and community resources. It is based on the Fountain House model and provides programs and services consistent with the psychosocial rehabilitation approach. Within this model, members work alongside staff in order to build social, vocational life skills and offer and promote pathways to employment. Members are a part of the decision‑making process and participate with staff in a structured system known as a work ordered day.
Within this shared responsibility, members and staff are responsible for running many of the day‑to‑day responsibilities of the Clubhouse.
Under the direction of the Division Director, this position is responsible for the overall management of day‑to‑day operations of the Coast’s Clubhouse, Employment and youth and young adult programs. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to work with senior leadership as part of the development and construction of new Clubhouse and head office buildings. During this transition period, working with the staffing team and Director to ensure that the VCH program requirements are being consistently met in a temporary location will be a top priority.
This position leads a team of unionized staff that operate within the Clubhouse. You will establish a positive, healthy and safe work environment for this team, and manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
Program leadership includes risk management for the programs including safety aspects as well as financial management of program budgets. In addition, working closely in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health and other community partners will be an ongoing priority as well as developing program plans in alignment with overall Coast strategies and operational plans.
Responsibilities:- Assures the delivery of quality services, including overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the range of programs within the Coast Clubhouse, Young Adult and Employment services.
- Initiates and organizes the annual program planning process for the division and is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of current program areas.
- Participates in the development of divisional policies and prepares departmental procedures and ensures policies and procedures are implemented accordingly.
- Directly intervenes, when necessary, in program, personnel or member issues.
- Develops and articulates program standards to all staff, members and interested parties.
- Articulates appropriate quality assurance objectives, indicators and measurement processes in current programs, sets appropriate performance thresholds and monitors program performance vis‑a‑vis those standards.
- Assures that all government or board reports are produced on a timely basis.
- You will also be assigned other duties that arise, based on operational needs of the Clubhouse Program.
- Maintaining and building relations with community partners is a top priority of the Clubhouse Manager role. Working in collaboration with both external and internal partners will be an ongoing priority of both the Clubhouse and Temporary Employment programs.
- The Clubhouse is located on the site of a redevelopment project, which will bring new and improved programming facilities, community amenities, and hundreds of units of housing into a first‑of‑its‑kind campus of care. The program will be located at an interim site during construction. As the program will be an integral part of the new campus, building partnerships and promoting Coast’s mission and vision will be an integral component of this role.
This program manager will be communicating with relevant professional, government, business, and community agencies and individuals.
