Cleaning Technician

Umbrella Property Services is a Living Wage Certified building services company looking for individuals with the drive to maximize their earning potential. We are looking to hire Cleaning Technicians to join an installation crew of two people—driving a spick and span van and operating the latest technology in Window Cleaning, Pressure Washing, Gutter Cleaning and Christmas Lighting tools. Our focus is to provide our staff with a challenging yet rewarding work experience, all while maintaining a fun atmosphere.

Position

Purpose:

The Cleaning Technician position is the most important role of this front-line business. The purpose is to deliver outstanding customer service while driving revenue and operating the tools and a work van in a safe and legal manner.

• Create a positive working environment for clients and co-workers
• Deliver exceptional customer service to our high‑end clientele
• Maintain a safe, organized, well‑branded job‑site, and stay on schedule
• Fill out job site work orders at end of each job, and other light administrative duties
• Offer feedback to improve current systems

• Previous team‑building experience/working as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to withstand physical demand of the position, i.e. heavy lifting, using extension ladders
• The resiliency to work long hours in the rain and sun
• Ability to execute multiple tasks in a fast moving environment.
• Total comfort working at heights and with ladders.

• Previous general labour experience (i.e. landscaping, construction)
• Previous customer service experience
• Previous leadership experience
• Involvement in extracurricular activities, i.e. sports teams, hiking, mountain climbing, outdoor adventures
• Strong community involvement

• A base pay of $22-$27 per hour (DOE) with upsell, review, and various other bonus opportunities.
• Some customers provide our field staff with gratuities.
• 2 weeks paid vacation pay (4% of gross pay) increasing to 3 weeks paid vacation pay (6% of gross pay) after 3 months probation.
• 5 sick days available after 3 months probation.

Compensation: $22.00 per hour

Everything needs to be cleaned. Within the cleaning industry, there is fierce competition. More than 50 franchise brands offer office cleaning, home cleaning or carpet cleaning. About the only segment of the popular cleaning industry that isn’t crowded with franchise systems is residential window cleaning.

A Healthy and growing industry. Windows, decks, gutters and sidewalks get dirty no matter what the economy does. People who value a clean home continue to spend on maintaining and caring for their largest investment. Because of this, window cleaning can be a highly recession‑resistant industry that can’t be outsourced overseas and won’t fall victim to automation.

More time for everyone. The window cleaning, window tinting and pressure washing industry offers other advantages. Unlike commercial janitorial and carpet cleaning franchises that require evening and weekend work, residential cleaning is typically performed Monday through Friday, 9 to 5.
