The expected pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 per annum.

A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia seeks to appoint a full-time Lecturer and Co-Director, Indigenous Community Legal Clinic (ICLC).
** Term**:
This is a one year term appointment. This position is eligible for renewal on demonstration of teaching excellence, subject to budgetary availability and operational needs.
** POSITION SUMMARY
** We expect the appointment to commence August 1, 2026 with a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications. The expected salary range is $ - $ per annum. This position is within the UBC Faculty Association bargaining unit and is subject to the terms of the Collective Agreement between UBC and UBCFA. This position is an opportunity to provide educational, strategic and organizational leadership in a unique legal and academic setting.
The position will, together with other clinic lawyers, be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and mentorship of law students in case file work which provides critical legal services to an underrepresented population. More broadly, the position will ensure the academic integrity and coherence of the student experience across the experiential and classroom elements of the program; and, in consultation with stakeholders in the law school and community, help identify objectives, priorities and opportunities that will set the vision and direction of the ICLC for the medium to long term, including the development of an Indigenous service model.

** The ICLC at the Peter
A. Allard School of Law is located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlil̓wətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. The ICLC has served the community for over twenty-five years with Allard Law students providing legal services to Indigenous clients under the supervision of staff lawyers. The ICLC’s primary purpose is educational: to provide law students with an opportunity to use their substantive understanding of law in a experiential setting.
This clinical setting allows students to gain practice skills along with a deeper understanding of professional ethics and professional responsibility. Students who participate in the clinic often speak of it as a highlight of their legal education and a formative experience in learning about themselves, the community and the practice of law.
