Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position for a Family Law Paralegal based in south Burnaby, BC. The Family Law Paralegal will work extensively with our family lawyers and provide support for family law cases. While this job is mainly family law-focused, our family lawyers also practice estate and general civil litigation and a successful candidate will be expected to assist in those areas as well.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting our senior and junior family law lawyers with day-to-day file management and client support
- Preparation of court documents, including financial statements and applications.
- Drafting and sending correspondence to opposing counsel and parties
- Filing court documents (physical and e-filing)
- Communicating with clients and court registries
- Arranging out-of-town court hearings or mediations, as required
- General administrative support, including scanning, printing, closing files, and arranging meetings
- Have a legal assistant diploma or certificate
- Possess at least two years of British Columbia family law work experience;
- Fluent written and spoken English;
- Intermediate to senior experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal
- Strong knowledge of Supreme Court Family and Civil Rules.

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while supporting a busy legal practice
- Is self-motivated and can work independently but also values a team-based environment.
Salary range: $60,000 – $80,000+, commensurate with experience. We also have a benefits package.
