Position

Part-time Corporate Records Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA). 25 hours per week in office, supporting two lawyers. Salary range: $40,000 – $60,000, determined by experience.

Responsibilities
  • Corporate Records
    : experience using Appara software; update annual corporate summary spreadsheet (daily); obtain instructions from clients to proceed with annual maintenance; preparation of annual reports, annual resolutions, changes of R&R and changes of directors if necessary; filings with BC Registry Services; in corporations of new companies (preparation of all inc. and organizational documents); registration of dba names as required; amalgamations; coordinating maintenance with local counsel for extra-provincially registered companies;

    support on tax planning matters; support on business purchase and sales as required; search and filing PPSA matters as required.
  • Administrative Support
    : opening new matters in Soluno/iManage; conflict checks; support on marketing activities as required.
  • Accounting
    : preparation of invoices for Corporate Records matters; preparation of invoices for general corporate matters as requested; issuing invoices to clients with instructions to pay; following up with clients for payment of past due invoices.
Qualifications
  • Must have at least 2 years working experience in British Columbia in a legal setting
  • A team player who can work independently and take initiative
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must have knowledge of Appara corporate software
  • Technological proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, as well as an ability to learn new software programs quickly
