Estate Litigation Associate

Overview   Our client is seeking an experienced estate litigator to build and lead their own practice within a collaborative, modern, and growth-oriented firm.
Responsibilities     Build, lead, and grow a self-sustaining estate litigation practice within the firm.
Manage a sophisticated caseload of estate litigation matters, including:
Complex estate disputes
Wills variation claims
Undue influence claims
Dependant relief claims and other contentious estate matters

Take carriage of files from inception through resolution, including:
Client strategy and advising
Pleadings, discoveries, applications, mediations, and trials

Develop and maintain strong client relationships and referral sources.
Play a key role in business development and practice growth initiatives.
Mentor and support junior lawyers and staff, contributing to training, development, and team culture.
Collaborate with other practice groups on cross-over litigation matters.
Contribute to the firm's broader culture, values, and long-term strategic growth.
Qualifications     6+ years of call with strong experience in estate litigation (more senior candidates are encouraged to apply).
Commercial litigation experience is a strong asset.
Proven experience handling complex and contentious estate litigation files.
Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain a book of business (portable practice or strong referral network preferred).
Strong advocacy, drafting, and strategic litigation skills.
Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers and/or staff is highly desirable.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to build and grow a practice within a firm platform.
Excellent client management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
