The Role
As the Director, Analytics & Insights – Freight Club, you will lead the strategic direction, execution, and evolution of analytics across our logistics and shipping platform. You will play a critical leadership role in transforming data into actionable insights that enhance operational performance, strengthen carrier and vendor partnerships, improve unit economics, and drive profitable growth.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Analytics & AI and in partnership with the CEO and SVP GM of Freight Club, you will define and own the long‑term analytics vision for Freight Club, ensuring insights are proactive, scalable, and tightly connected to financial outcomes—particularly revenue opportunity identification, margin improvement, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. You will partner closely with executives across Freight Club to convert data into decisions that improve shipping performance, optimize carrier networks, elevate service quality, and unlock new opportunities for growth.
This is a hybrid role (at least 1‑2 days in office), based in the Gastown area of Vancouver, BC.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Define and execute an analytics strategy and operating plan aligned with Freight Club’s business goals.
Build, lead and mentor a high‑performing analytics team that delivers actionable insights, data models, and strategic recommendations.
Partner with business leaders across operations, pricing, carrier management, customer experience, finance, and product to ensure analytics initiatives drive measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and margin.
Champion a culture of data‑driven decision‑making across departments through enablement, education, and collaborative partnership.
Business Impact & Financial Performance
Identify, quantify, and track initiatives that improve revenue and margin through enhanced carrier optimization, pricing management, cost optimization, and service‑level performance.
Deliver forward‑looking insights on shipping performance, carrier reliability, cost‑to‑serve dynamics, profitability levers, and logistics trends affecting the business.
Provide executives with timely visibility into opportunities, risks, and key drivers of Freight Club’s business performance.
Tools, Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Leverage advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to extract insights from complex logistics and shipping datasets.
Monitor emerging trends in transportation analytics, pricing science, network optimization, and AI to continually advance Freight Club’s competitive advantage.
Improve analytics processes, governance, and tools to maximize accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround time.
Advocate for modern analytics platforms, methodologies, and automation solutions that unlock incremental value and support Freight Club’s strategic priorities.
Build scalable and repeatable analytics solutions that are integrated into Freight Club’s ongoing operational rhythms.
Who You Are
5+ years of experience in analytics, with a proven track record of leading high‑impact analytics teams and driving strategic business outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to set analytical vision and translate business strategy into measurable, financially meaningful results.
Expertise in SQL and experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server or similar RDBMS environments).
Proficiency with data visualization tools (preferably Power BI) and a strong understanding of effective data storytelling.
Solid foundation in statistical analysis, modeling, and predictive analytics, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
Experience in logistics, shipping, supply chain, transportation analytics, or marketplace operations is a strong asset.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
Strong financial acumen and the ability to articulate the business and financial implications of analytical findings.
