LOCATION:

Apply Digital is hybrid/remote friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in Canada, working in hours that align to ET (Eastern Timezone) or PT (Pacific Timezone).

The Role  Apply Digital is seeking a  Solution Architect  to provide senior technical leadership across our platforms and engineering capabilities, with a strong focus on Agentic Engineering, AI-powered experiences, modern software architecture, and scalable delivery practices.
The Solution Architect will shape how Apply Digital designs, builds, and operates production-grade software platforms by operating Agents, with AI and automation embedded deeply into our engineering workflows and systems.
You will lead technical strategy, guide architectural decisions, and enable teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently and safely. This includes advancing our use of spec-driven development, AI coding agents, agent-based systems, and cloud-native architectures, while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals and operational rigour.
The Solution Architect is a versatile technologist with deep systems thinking, a strong grasp of AI-native architectures, and the leadership maturity to guide multiple teams through complex technical initiatives as well as the ability to be a trusted technical advisor to clients. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate and express complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
Responsibilities   Define, own, and evolve the high-level technical architecture for internal and client platforms and shared services, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, observable, and production-ready.
Organizing, distributing and translating backlog requirements from Product, UX and other disciplines, into detailed spec driven requirements for Agents to implement.
Synthesize user stories, site maps, content strategy, components and design systems, brand strategy, etc, into specifications that coding Agents will implement.
Designing and implementing digital solutions that have proper SEO/GEO, accessibility, performance and content management integrations.
Integrations with key Composable platforms such as Contentful, Contentstack, Algolia, Cloudinary, etc.
Champion spec-driven development as a core practice to improve clarity, quality, and predictability across teams.
Design and guide layered and distributed architectures, ensuring sound use of queues, caching, APIs, and database schemas while using teams of coding agents.
Establish standards for creating and consuming RESTful APIs across services.
