Senior DevOps Engineering Consultant

Position Description

LOCATION:

VANCOUVER, BC

This role is part of a large, multi-year enterprise implementation focused on modernizing how critical platforms are built, deployed, operated, and observed. The program is moving away from manual, environment‑specific deployment practices toward a fully automated, cloud‑native delivery model that supports APIs, data pipelines, event‑driven services, and distributed platform components. The Dev Ops stream is responsible for enabling consistent CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and operational controls that allow teams to deliver changes safely and repeatedly at scale.

The Senior Dev Ops Engineering Consultant is responsible for building the delivery and operational backbone that all engineering teams rely on. This includes supporting integration services, pub/sub infrastructure, identity and search components, and web applications with robust automation and observability. Decisions made in this role directly affect system reliability, deployment velocity, and production stability. While initially assigned to this flagship program, the pipelines, automation patterns, and operational standards established are intended to become reusable assets across future transformation initiatives, positioning this role as a key contributor to long‑term Dev Ops and platform engineering practices within the organization.

• Build CI/CD pipelines supporting integration and cluster services
• Automate deployments and environment provisioning
• Implement observability, logging, and alerting
• Support performance testing and tuning for distributed services
• Ensure operational reliability of pub/sub and search infrastructure

• Strong AWS experience (Code Pipeline, Cloud Watch, EKS, Lambda)
• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 7+ years in Dev Ops or platform engineering roles
• Experience with containerized and serverless workloads
• Exposure to Azure Dev Ops and GCP tooling ideal

"CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000 - $160,000."
