The Data Engineer will play a key role in modernizing and scaling LGM’s data platform using Microsoft Fabric and Azure within our Business Intelligence team.
Key Responsibilities- Designing and operating resilient data pipelines (batch and near real‑time) across cloud and on‑premises systems
- Implementing modern Lakehouse and warehouse patterns using Medallion architecture
- Building scalable dimensional models that support enterprise reporting and self‑service analytics
- Optimizing SQL performance across relational platforms including SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Fabric Warehouse
- Publishing curated datasets and semantic models to enable high‑performing Power BI reporting
- Supporting migration from legacy reporting solutions and promoting analytics best practices
- Partnering with business and technology teams to ensure data is trusted, governed, and secure
- Troubleshooting and resolving production issues with strong ownership and responsiveness
- 3+ years of experience building and maintaining data warehouses and ETL/ELT pipelines
- Strong SQL skills including performance tuning and optimization
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure data services such as One Lake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Notebooks/Spark
- Experience designing dimensional models including star schemas, conformed dimensions, and fact tables
- Familiarity with Power BI semantic modeling and governance best practices
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a focus on building scalable, maintainable solutions
- Experience migrating from legacy reporting environments such as SSRS is considered an asset
