The JobThe Data Engineer will play a key role in modernizing and scaling LGM’s data platform using Microsoft Fabric and Azure within our Business Intelligence team.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis role provides an opportunity to actively shape how data engineering is practiced at LGM:
Designing and operating resilient data pipelines (batch and near real-time) across cloud and on-premises systems
Implementing modern Lakehouse and warehouse patterns using Medallion architecture
Building scalable dimensional models that support enterprise reporting and self-service analytics
Optimizing SQL performance across relational platforms including SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Fabric Warehouse
Publishing curated datasets and semantic models to enable high-performing Power BI reporting
Supporting migration from legacy reporting solutions and promoting analytics best practices
Partnering with business and technology teams to ensure data is trusted, governed, and secure
Troubleshooting and resolving production issues with strong ownership and responsiveness
3+ years of experience building and maintaining data warehouses and ETL/ELT pipelines
Strong SQL skills including performance tuning and optimization
Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure data services such as One Lake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Notebooks/Spark
Experience designing dimensional models including star schemas, conformed dimensions, and fact tables
Familiarity with Power BI semantic modeling and governance best practices
Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on building scalable, maintainable solutions
Experience migrating from legacy reporting environments such as SSRS is considered an asset
