DevOps Engineer

6-month contract Devops Engineer role with an enterprise organization investing majorly into technology.

We’re supporting a global retail organization in hiring a Senior Software Engineer for their retail technology team. In this role, you’ll design and develop backend systems and AWS infrastructure that support our clients in-store mobile commerce app. You’ll work with Python, Terraform, Docker, and Git Lab CI/CD to deploy and maintain scalable, serverless applications in AWS Lambda and Fargate. You’ll monitor performance and system health using Cloud Watch, Splunk, and Datadog, while continuously improving automation, security, and operational excellence.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have an in-office work environment, 3-4 days a week in office.

You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

• 8+ years of experience with Dev Ops support.
• Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, Serverless, and API Gateway.
• Proficiency with either Terraform or Cloud Formation (Terraform preferred).
• CI/CD experience (Git Lab CI/CD preferred).
• Good understanding of HTTP protocol and Web servers.
• Monitoring and Alerting with any of the following:
  Splunk, Cloud Watch, Data Dog.
• Strong hands‑on development experience on Python.
• Working knowledge of RESTful APIs using Python.

• AWS:
  Lambda, Cloud Watch Alarms, API Gateway, Application Load Balancer.
• Orchestration:
  Terraform, Cloud Formation, Git Lab CI pipelines.
• Programming:
  Python.

This role pays between $75-85 per hour.
