WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME IN THIS ROLE
The MIS Manager is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing all hotel technology systems and infrastructure. This includes IT strategy, network security, hardware/software support, and the maintenance of hotel-specific systems such as the PMS, reservations, and telecommunications platforms. This position reports to the Area Director of Finance and works closely with department heads and corporate IT.
Salary range: 85,000 - 95,000
Duties & Responsibilities
Operations & Support
· Lead day‑to‑day IT operations for the hotel; manage the helpdesk queue and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests with clear SLAs.
· Maintain uptime and performance for guest Wi‑Fi and colleague networks; proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize.
· Administer user lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding), access controls, and hardware/software deployment for all departments.
Systems & Infrastructure
· Oversee on‑prem and cloud infrastructure (servers, storage, M365/Azure/Google Workspace, print services, backups, patching).
· Ensure the reliability of Hyatt‑approved applications (e.g., PMS, POS, door lock, IPTV, VoIP/PBX, CCTV, payment terminals), coordinating with corporate IT and vendors for updates and releases.
· Maintain accurate documentation: network diagrams, asset inventory, runbooks, and change records (ITIL practices).
Security & Compliance
· Own property‑level cybersecurity: endpoint protection, email security, MFA, vulnerability remediation, and incident response.
· Maintain compliance with PCI DSS and Canadian privacy requirements (PIPEDA and applicable BC PIPA obligations); support audits and remediation.
· Conduct security awareness for colleagues (phishing simulations, best‑practice training).
Projects & Vendor Management
· Plan and deliver property technology projects: network refreshes, system upgrades, integrations, and lifecycle replacements.
· Partner with engineering, finance, rooms, F&B, events, and sales to deliver technology that supports service and revenue goals.
Leadership & Culture
· Coach and develop an IT coordinator/analyst (if applicable) and lead cross‑functional problem solving.
· Champion a guest‑centric, data‑secure, “always‑on” service culture aligned with Hyatt standards.
· Minimum 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including 2+ years supporting multi‑system, guest‑facing or hospitality/retail environments.
· Strong networking fundamentals (switching, VLANs, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, VPN), Windows administration, and modern endpoint management (Intune/Autopilot or similar).
· Demonstrated support of business‑critical applications and integrations; comfort working with vendors and corporate teams.
· Proven track record with backups, patching, monitoring, and incident/change/problem management (ITIL concepts).
· Working knowledge of cybersecurity controls, PCI DSS, and Canadian privacy expectations (PIPEDA/BC PIPA).
· Excellent stakeholder communication; calm under pressure; hands‑on, service‑oriented mindset.
