Your role
Senior HR Business Partner – Support daily HR operations and contribute to efficient delivery of HR programs across the organization. Involved with benefits, immigration, recruitment, reporting, performance management, management training, and special projects.
Responsibilities
Partner with business units to advise managers on employee relations, performance management, and best HR practices.
Build and maintain positive relationships with assigned business units to ensure HR services are executed.
Analyze problems and make independent recommendations for solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Maintain compliance with employment law, company policies, procedures, and standards.
Plan and organize own work assignments; carry out tasks as required by HR leadership.
Create HR documentation, including offer letters, onboarding documents, and contractual agreements.
Process updates in HR systems (HRIS, ATS, PAS).
Support the annual performance management process; facilitate employee review meetings and track performance.
Facilitate onboarding activities and conduct exit interviews as part of off‑boarding.
Serve as team leader on assigned HR projects.
Organize and prioritize projects and tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Handle employee relation investigations, consulting with HR leadership on complex matters.
Conduct final‑round interviews with internal and external candidates.
Assess trends, propose solutions, assist HR leadership in improvement strategies.
Work with Recruitment on job descriptions, resume screening, interviewing, and reference checks.
Support the annual compensation program by educating managers and communicating with employees.
Provide strategic HR initiatives support, research, recommendations, and participation in implementation and maintenance.
Analyze and report on HR metrics to evaluate HR program effectiveness.
Assist with immigration processes: new‑hire requirements and ongoing visa and PR applications.
Participate in internal HR peer‑to‑peer mentoring program.
Collaborate on training program design and delivery.
Represent Global Relay at career fairs and recruitment events.
Assist with ad‑hoc projects as required.
Qualifications
7+ years progressive HR experience; high‑tech or software background is an asset.
Post‑secondary studies, ideally in Human Resources.
True HR generalist with hands‑on experience across HR functions.
Strong communicator with business acumen.
Knowledge of employment regulations including Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Act.
Deep knowledge of HR standards and best practices.
Experience with HR Systems (HRIS, ATS, Performance Appraisal System).
Familiarity with Bamboo
HR, Greenhouse, and/or Trakstar is an asset.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Ability to build trust at all employee levels.
Record of responsibility, judgment, and confidentiality.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi‑task.
Self‑starter comfortable working independently and in a team.
Flexible, initiatives‑driven, and thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
Compensation
British Columbia – Base salary range: $85,000 CAD – $100,000 CAD. Individual pay rates are determined by expertise, skills, education, and professional background. This range is one element of our comprehensive total rewards package, reflecting our pay philosophy, culture, and values. Benefits include an extended health benefits program, virtual healthcare, wellness allowance, paid sick days, maternity/parental enhancement program, bonus, and RRSP contribution matching.
Vancouver‑based employees receive a subsidized meal program.
