ROLE PURPOSE

This position will assist the supervisor in providing work direction, and guidance to residence workers. Ensures that clients’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs are met. Assists clients to enhance quality of life with activities of daily living and the development of life skills.

STATUS AND CLASSIFICATION

This position is unionized, and the candidate must meet the Union requirements of the role.

HOURS (40 hours per week)

Sunday to Thursday, 1615 to 0015.

This is a temporary position to cover a leave of absence until the incumbent returns (April-May 2026 ).

KEY

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assists the supervisor in providing orientation, training, work direction, and guidance to residence workers by performing duties such as clarifying program policies, reviewing work, and scheduling residence workers. Provides input to residence workers’ performance evaluations.
  • May oversee the operation of the residence in the absence of the supervisor or as directed.
  • Participates in the assessment, goal setting and program planning (Personal Service Plan) for individuals living in a residence. Documents, implements, and provides input into the evaluation of the program.
  • In cooperation with the Program Manager, is available to all resource staff, in case of emergencies. This may include carrying the pager or cell phone 24 hours a day.
  • Serves as a Role Model for Residence Workers and regularly attend to self-care and other personal needs
  • Supports in establishing a work environment that creates positive communication for all Staff that maintains and encourages the Program and Connective culture, values and mission.
  • As assigned, conducts team meetings regularly to provide training, convey information, problem-solve, solicit input, track progress and promote discussions of important issues
  • As assigned, organize staff work schedules. Ensures adequate supervision and staffing based on minimum staffing ratios and specific needs of the individuals. Adhere to budgetary constraints regarding overtime
  • Provides mentoring, training, reinforcement, or redirection, as necessary for Residence Workers
  • Ensures well-balanced and nutritious meals, while including the client in the selection, purchase and preparation of grocery items.
  • Assures facilities are kept neat and well maintained that is free from garbage, waste, leftover food, harm reduction gear and other debris
  • Performs residence maintenance and housekeeping duties such as laundry, sweeping, mopping floors, mowing lawns, inventory, shopping, cleaning equipment, and food services.
  • Oversees vehicle maintenance and cleanliness by reporting issues promptly, arranging for needed repairs and regularly scheduled maintenance. Support in the development of strategies to better oversee vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
  • Maintains required program documentation. Responsible for completing, maintaining and ensuring case notes, shift summaries, progress reports and other forms of documentation as outlined in the Program or Connective Policy and Procedures
