Recreation Assistant – Long Term Care (Vancouver Coastal Health, Windermere Care Centre, Vancouver, BC)

Salary: CAD $30.96 per hour.

Job Overview

The Recreation Assistant will collaborate with the Recreation Therapist to deliver recreation programs for patients, clients, and residents.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a team-based environment to carry out recreation programs in consultation with the Recreation Therapist.
  • Organize and oversee patients/clients/residents on outings; coordinate portering to and from activity; demonstrate recreation techniques; adapt activities to enable maximum independence as instructed; provide functional direction to volunteers მთავარი; evaluate and report progress; organize furnishings and equipment; maintain inventory.
  • Operate a bus with up to 25 passengers as required by the program.
Education & Experience
  • Completion of a recognised Recreation Diploma Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Class 4 vehicle license (unrestricted) is an asset.
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Teaching ability.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Equipment operation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
Other Requirements

May be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. All new hires must provide vaccination recordsサイズ as part of onboarding.
