About Lifemark Physiotherapy Vancouver Broadway

Our Lifemark Physiotherapy Vancouver Broadway clinic is located at the foot of the Commercial‑Broadway Skytrain station. It is easily accessible by transit as it is only a one‑minute walk from the Skytrain station and local bus stop. Our multidisciplinary team includes physiotherapists, registered massage therapists, certified hand therapists, and occupational therapists, providing rehabilitation treatments and services with a gym complete with a bicycle, shuttle, mechanical traction, free weights, and functional training equipment for our clients.

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) with a specialization in Hand Therapy who is passionate about assisting individuals impacted by head injury throughout their recovery process. As an OT in our Post Concussion Management Program/Early Concussion Assessment and Treatment Program, you will play a key role in assessing and treating clients who have sustained concussions and are experiencing persistent symptoms.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, individualized care that supports recovery and successful return to work and daily function. In addition to working with the concussion programs, you will have the opportunity to participate in other work streams such as FCEs, Community OT services, and Veterans Rehabilitation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based Occupational Therapy services to clients.
  • Apply clinical expertise and professional competence in assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow‑up of clients.
  • Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, and specialized seating and positioning assessments.
  • Identify appropriate equipment needs with the initiation of recommendations.
  • Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to the Ministry of Health, insurance agencies, and other funding parties.
  • Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aides, as well as ongoing education to clients and family to improve function, independence and safety.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client’s chart.
  • Excel in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment.
Who You Are
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Experienced as a Hand Therapist, either as an OT or PT, is preferred.
  • Newly licensed Hand Therapy OT/PT graduates are accepted.
Other Requirements
  • Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
  • Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem‑solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
