Career opportunity:
We currently have a career opportunity for an Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will be located at our head office in Vancouver, BC
. You will work closely with Finance team members and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely month-end deliverables, and strong documentation practices. We are looking for a highly motivated, high performing, results driven candidate.
- Reconciling monthly commission and expenses for commission-based employees and responding to related information requests;
- Recording monthly recurring journal entries and maintaining working papers for Harbourfront group and its subsidiary companies;
- Support preparation of monthly internal financial statements and regulatory filings;
- Preparing documents and reports for year-end audit and other external audits;
- Identifying opportunities to streamline recurring tasks and improve documentation quality;
- Supporting the Finance team in contributing to department projects and goals and other ad hoc tasks as assigned
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting or financial management;
- Working toward a CPA designation is an asset;
- Minimum 2 years experience in a finance or accountancy role;
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs;
- Sage Intacct or other enterprise-level accounting software experience is an asset;
- Experience working in the financial services industry is an asset;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong time management skills to meet tight deadlines;
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range: $70,000- $80,000 per annum (actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
