We are looking for a skilled Assistant Controller to join our client's team on a contract-to-hire basis in Vancouver, British Columbia. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to financial operations and processes in a public company environment. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and assisting with acquisitions and financial reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the existing accounting team to gain an understanding of financial reporting processes and management reports.
• Assist in month-end procedures, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Support the external audit process by preparing schedules, working papers, and other required documentation.
• Generate monthly financial and management reports to ensure accurate tracking of company performance.
• Analyze financial records to identify discrepancies and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Prepare quarterly external consolidated financial statements and Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&
A) in compliance with relevant standards.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, including analyzing variances and providing insights.
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Oversee inventory and procurement processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with integrating financial operations for recent and upcoming acquisitions.
