Job Description & How to Apply Below

Join a Leading Private Equity Real Estate Firm Focused on U.S. Investments

Balfour Pacific Capital is a Vancouver-based private equity real estate firm that focuses on value-added and core-plus investments in the United States. Together with its affiliate, Belzberg & Co., the firm currently manages $390 million in committed real estate capital and assets on behalf of institutions and high net worth investors. Since 2011, the Belzberg organization has successfully invested in and managed over $2 billion in assets.

Being part of Balfour Pacific Capital means being an integral part of a values driven organization with a disciplined investing philosophy. The firm approaches every opportunity as a value investor — willing to take calculated return risk, but never capital risk. Every investment is rooted in rigorous diligence and a deep understanding of market dynamics, leasing fundamentals and capital structure. The team commits to building well-supported conviction before deploying capital and acts decisively when opportunities meet its standards, maintaining a disciplined and adaptive approach to drive performance across market cycles.

Equally important is how the team operates internally. Balfour is built on relationships, mutual respect, and high standards. The group insists on excellence, operates with integrity, and approaches its work with meticulous attention to detail. Hierarchy is minimal, collaboration is expected, and professionalism is paired with genuine collegiality. The team works hard, supports one another, and enjoys what they do.

Today, Balfour is entering its next phase of growth. As the portfolio expands and investment strategies evolve, the firm is deepening its asset management capabilities to support disciplined business plan execution. The team is intentionally adding depth to enhance operational oversight and position the platform for sustained long-term performance.

Your New Employer

As Analyst, Asset Management, you will support the asset management team across a portfolio of primarily U.S. office and multifamily assets, including third-party assignments. This is not a siloed role. You will be involved in leasing analysis, capital planning, refinancing and disposition execution, lender reporting, hold/sell analysis, underwriting, market research, and fund-level reporting.

You will maintain and enhance Argus and Excel models, support renewal and rollover analysis, monitor rent rolls and tenant performance, coordinate appraisals, and assist with business plan updates and annual valuations. You will prepare lender packages, manage loan reporting and covenant compliance, and support property- and fund-level cash flow management, including distributions reconciliations and tax appeals. You will liaise with property managers on monthly reporting and performance variances, track lease and sale comparables, and contribute to investment memoranda and strategic recommendations.

Because Balfour operates as a lean private equity platform, this role provides exposure across the full investment cycle – including acquisitions, leasing strategy, debt structuring, and disposition execution. The expectation is not simply to execute tasks, but to think like an owner. Over time, the goal is for this individual to grow into a more senior asset management role within the firm.

What

Sets You Apart

You bring three or more years of experience in commercial real estate, private equity, lending, brokerage, or a similar investment environment. You hold a post-secondary degree in Real Estate, Business, Economics, or a related field. Progress toward, or completion of, a CFA, CPA, or AACI designation is an asset. You have strong financial modeling and underwriting capabilities, and Argus Enterprise experience is required.

You understand how leasing strategy, capital planning, and debt structure intersect — particularly in a market where loan management and refinancing decisions directly impact asset performance.

You are analytical, detail-oriented, and self-directed. In a lean team, there is no rigid playbook. You take initiative, think critically, and take ownership without constant oversight. This is not…
