Position: Indirect Tax, Senior Associate (Bilingual FR/EN)

A career in our Indirect Tax practice, within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever-changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions.

Our team helps our clients optimise cash flow and reduce risk by managing challenges and identify opportunities related to indirect taxes. You’ll support our clients with all aspects of indirect taxation related to global, regional and domestic projects as well as comprehensive restructuring and compliance projects.

As an Indirect Tax Senior Associate,you'llwork as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

  • Deal with Canadian indirect taxes which include GST/HST, provincial sales taxes, excise taxes

  • Advise andassistclients on indirect tax matters, which includes verbal andwrittencommunication with clients and tax authorities, researchinglegislation/case law/publicationsand drafting deliverables

  • Assistclients with tax authority audits and appeals, tax registrations and elections

  • Perform indirect tax due diligenceandcompliance reviews and health checks

  • Build meaningful relationships with coworkers within the indirect tax group, the tax team and other service lines within PwC Canada and foreign PwC firms

  • Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, personalstrengthsand address development areas

  • Delegate to others toprovidestretch opportunities, coaching them to deliver results

  • Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems

  • Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends

  • Review your work and that of others for quality,accuracyand relevance

  • Know how and when to use tools available for a given situation and can explain the reasons for this choice

  • Seekand embrace opportunities which give exposure to different situations,environmentsand perspectives

  • Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others

  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

  • Experience and skillsyou’lluse to solve

  • Prior accounting or tax experience in public or private sector

  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of Canadianindirect taxesand/or value added taxes in otherjurisdictions

  • Strong knowledge and practical application of technology tools commonly used in data transformation and visualisation, such as Alteryx,Power Query, Tableau,Power

    BI, advance Microsoft Excel

  • Strong marketing skills and client focus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonalskillsand the ability to read and interpret legislation

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, work effectively under pressure and work well in a team environment

  • When applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French isrequired. Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is an asset

    The salary range for this position is $58,400 - $97,500.The posted salary rangerepresentsthe expected hiring range for PwC locations in major citycentres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary isdeterminedby your skills, experience,qualificationsand work  addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities toparticipatein variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
